Home " Further help " Good tips for saving money " Exemption from broadcasting fees
Pensioners and social welfare recipients can be exempted from the obligation to pay the broadcasting fee under certain conditions. This mainly applies to recipients of basic income support, citizens' allowance or other social benefits.
The exemption is intended for pensioners and recipients of certain social benefits such as citizen's allowance or basic security in old age. People who receive other social benefits such as unemployment benefit I or housing benefit are not entitled to exemption.
Proof such as benefit statements are required to apply for exemption. An exemption can also be applied for as a case of hardship if the income exceeds the requirement limit by less than the monthly broadcasting fee.
